Is Annunciation Day School Accredited?
We are proudly accredited with “Quality” through the Georgia Accrediting Commission and a member of both GISA and AAAIS.
What are the student/teacher ratios?
Having low student/teacher ratios is an important aspect of our educational philosophy at ADS. This sets us apart from other area schools.

Are K-7th Teachers Certified?
Yes. All our teachers hold current state of George teaching certificates. 77% of our K-7th grade teachers hold at least a masters degree.
What curriculum do you follow?
Our teachers teach the Georgia Standards of Excellence in English Language Arts and Mathematics and the Georgia Performance Standards for all additional subjects.
What special classes do you offer?
Our K-7th grade students participate in Art, Greek Language, Music, P.E. and Orthodox Christian Religion. Our pre-school students participate in Greek Language, Music and Orthodox Christian Religion as well as daily recess.
Do students take standardized tests?
Yes. Our K-7th grade students take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and the COGAT tests. We are proud to report that our students have consistently scored in the top 97% nationwide.
What time does school start/end?
Parents Morning Out~ 9:45a-1:15p
2’s - Pre-K~ 9:30a-1:30p
Monday-Friday Kindergarten – 7th Grade~ 8:30a-2:45p
What is the best method of communication?
You can expect to receive weekly newsletters from your child’s teacher and a monthly school newsletter. We use RenWeb’s Parents Web, which is a secure parents’ portal that allows parents to view academic information specific to their K-7th grade children. Teachers are also available via email.
How do I pay monthly tuition?
It is required that you pay online through FACTS Management.
What do the School Fees (applicable only for K-7th) go toward?
The School Fees supplement a student’s school experience through materials and activities such as student agendas, student recognition programs and holiday performances.
What do the Preschool School Fees go toward?
School fees cover the day-to-day items we use at the school, special art projects and in-house field trips.
What supplies will I need to purchase for my pre-school/K-7th grader?
You will receive a welcome letter from your child’s teacher over the summer. This letter will include the class supply list.
Does my child need a uniform?
Yes. Uniforms are required in grades K-7.
Where do I purchase uniforms?
Uniforms are purchased through Gentle Sales Co. www.gentlesales.com
Do you offer afterschool care?
We currently offer afterschool care for our Pre-K through 7th grade students.
Do the students attend Church Services?
Our pre-school children through 7th grade students attend Church Services monthly.
Do we need to be Greek Orthodox Christians to attend the school?
No. Our student body includes not only children of the Orthodox Christian Faith, but also those of other faiths and reflects the cultural diversity of our entire city.
What school calendar do you follow?
We use the DeKalb County Public School Calendar as a general guide.
Does the school offer lunch?
Students may pack a lunch or order from Campus Cuisine.
How do I get involved with the school?
We have a very active Parent Teacher Organization! We always need volunteers to help with the numerous events going on at our school. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up to receive our PTO newsletter.
